Dolphins can be seen from our balcony. Up the beach is the public fishing pier, a favorite gathering place for anglers, which is frequented by porpoises, pelicans, and seagulls. There are numerous half day and full day charter fishing trips. With a little luck you can reel in flounder, trout, mullet, pompano, bluefish, snook and tarpon. Sightseeing cruises are plentiful. You can cruise the back bays or book a moonlight sail on a 72 foot schooner.

For more excitement you can also ride the Gulf waters on a jet ski, test your skills on a colorful windsurfer, or soar above the island in an ultralight aircraft or parasail. There are several full service marinas that cater to visitors with sailboat, pontoon, and motorboat rentals. Off the beach you can tour historic landmarks, museums, parks, and nature preserves. Fort Myers is the site of the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins spring training.
